Where to begin?
First of all, an apology. I feel like your old aunt Edna with her 3 hour-long slide show of her trip to the great ball of twine. So here's your chance to escape. If you are not a close relative or an extremely bored lover of all things Disney, you will probably want to find something more interesting to read. If you are one of those two things, here we go! Many, many photos of our family vacation to Disney World. Which, by the way, was much less awful than I expected.
We stayed at a beautiful resort with all manor of wildlife and water slides and it was quiet and restful and full of fun things to do.
Like chasing wild turkeys.
And zooming down the worlds biggest inflatable water slide. I went down it too, but will not be posting that picture. You're welcome.
Because we are beginners and not really 'Disney people' we opted to spend just one day at the Magic Kingdom. Open to close. Mickey or bust.
Loaded the girls in the double jogger and we were off!
I'm pretty sure we hit all the important highlights. Dancing princesses...
Archery lessons...
Seven times on the carousel...
Feats of strength...
Racecars...
Dumbo...
Sugar-loading to keep the baby moving...
Oh, yes, even Space Mountain. This picture says it all. Zadie loved this thing like unicorns wrapped in chocolate chip cookies covered with rainbow sprinkles. Andy rode it every time that she did just because he is 9 and she is 5 and no way was he letting his baby sister out-fearless him! He even managed not to throw-up, but does that look tell you how he really felt? He still won't admit it, but he'll be telling his therapist about the trauma one day.
Sugar crash.
Lego puppies...
Breakfast with Mickey...
Slide down again so that I can take your picture...
Thanks honey, that was just the angle I was hoping for :)
Four beautiful days and then it was time to go. I would say it was the best family vacation we have had so far. Of course, the bar isn't terribly high. The fact that no one got the throw up bug puts it above at least 90% of the vacations Dave and I have taken since becoming parents. Perhaps the glory days are upon us!
